One of the seven victims of the Gazipur gas station fire died on Friday morning at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH).

The deceased was identified as Mithu, 26, a resident of Moulvibazar district.

Mithu, who suffered 100% burns, breathed his last at the DMCH’s Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burns and Plastic Surgery at 8 a.m., the hospital police outpost said. in charge, Md Bacchu Mia.

On Thursday evening, the fire was started by an explosion that occurred in a van loaded with bottles while refueling at Wahed Ali gas station in Borobari area of ​​Gazipur.

Three firefighting units brought the blaze under control around 8 p.m., said Iqbal Hossain, senior officer of Tongi Fire and Civil Defense Station.

The seven people who suffered burns in the fire were all standing nearby. They were rushed to Tahirunnesa Memorial Medical College Hospital (TMMCH).

Mainul Islam, resident doctor at TMMCH, said five of the injured were transferred to DMCH in critical condition.

The other injured being treated at the DMCH are Al Amin, 25, Anwar, 30, Sirajul Islam, 28 and Parvez, 33.
