A petrol station today lowered its prices in a bid to be the cheapest in the country as a token of appreciation to its customers.
The Limes service station on Manchester Road in Walkden has cut prices to 1.69.9p for unleaded and 185.9p for diesel.
This is a significant drop from the 187.9pa liter for the unleaded and diesel price of 194.9pa litre.
A number of motorists said they had read about falling prices in The Bolton News.
Garage co-manager Hassan Mohammed, 30, said: “We are seeing people getting out and filling up more fuel than usual.

“They are taking advantage of the price change and it has been a really positive reaction from customers.
“It feels good, we’re just trying to take each day as it comes and hopefully I can keep going for as long as possible and let everyone enjoy the prize.”
Hassan, who lives in Astley Bridge, said: “It has been a positive reaction from customers and Texaco, my fuel seller, has also been enthusiastic about it.
“A few customers also shook my hand, it’s a really positive idea.”
