HARTFORD/TOLLAND COUNTIES, CT – Applications are now being accepted by the Connecticut Water Company for school water bottle filling stations. The company will fund up to a total of $15,000 in water bottle filling stations, which is enough for about 10 units in all schools served by Connecticut Water.

The program is fully funded by the shareholders of the company.

“Connecticut Water and its employees are committed to being a force for good in the communities we are privileged to serve by protecting public health and being good stewards of the environment,” said Denise Poole, Charitable Connecticut Water Giving Committee. “Water bottle refill stations align with our priorities by allowing easy access to high-quality drinking water for students and school staff while reducing the germ-spreading potential of traditional drinking fountains. Additionally, by using refillable water bottles, the waste generated by single-use water bottles is avoided.”

Any accredited school served by Connecticut Water is eligible. Entries will be accepted until January 31, 2023, and awards will be presented in February for delivery expected in the spring.

This is the fourth year that Connecticut Water has funded the program. To date, Connecticut Water has funded 25 water bottle filling stations at schools served by the company.

More information about the program, application, and information about the 2021/2022 school water bottle refill station recipients can be found at ctwater.com/community.
