Appeal regarding missing man last seen at gas station putting fuel into motorbike

Gardaí is asking the public for help in locating missing person Joe Delaney who was reported missing on November 17, 2021.

On the date in question, walkers from Rosslare Point discovered a motorcycle and helmet parked on the beach. These witnesses told Gardaí that they had seen the motorcycle in the same place two days previously. The registered owner of the motorcycle is Joe Delaney, a 52-year-old US national who has lived in Wexford for several years.

A Garda investigation into the missing persons has started and Mr Delaney’s last known movements have been traced to a petrol station, Distillery Road, Wexford Y35 FR98 where he obtained fuel for his motorbike at approx. 3:15 p.m.

Joe is believed to then proceed to Rosslare Point on his motorbike, where he had a brief interaction with people walking on the beach. There have been no other confirmed sightings of Joe.

A few days later, Joe’s personal belongings were found near Rosslare Point beach. Joe has not made any contact with his family or friends since his disappearance, which is completely irrelevant. Joe’s parents live in Massachusetts in the United States and are understandably upset by his disappearance.

Extensive land and coastal searches were carried out with the assistance of Irish Coast Guard units based at Rosslare Strand, Kilmore Quay and Curracloe, as well as assistance from Civil Defense and a SARDA canine unit.
