The Ascona Group has been signed by property adviser CBRE on behalf of owner Esson Properties, and it has taken over the Springfield Road site, which includes approximately 3,200 square feet of retail space with over 30 parking spaces, on a lease 20 years old.

The site, which will become a BP-branded service station with a Nisa convenience store, is described as being in a prominent location about two miles west of Aberdeen city center with frontage on Springfield Road. This will be the Ascona Group’s first site in Scotland and its 63rd in the UK.

Derren McRae, director of CBRE Aberdeen, said: “[Ascona] chose a prime location in the west of the city, benefiting not only from the driver clientele, but also from the ‘walk-in’ commerce of the surrounding popular residential area. The transaction also provided an excellent opportunity to work with our fellow road and automotive team specialists. »

Manoj Tugnait, Property Director North of the Ascona Group, added: “The acquisition of Springfield Road Service Station brings Ascona to Scotland for the first time, which we are very excited about. The site is due to open in a few months following an extensive refurbishment programme, which will include BP-branded fuel, a Nisa convenience store and a Greggs.
